Day 18

Currently due to his condition and being in ICU, Connor is not accepting any visitors at this time.

Day 18 with Connor in ICU has started off on a positive step. As always, the best conversation of our day is with Dr Soldevilla, Connor's neurosurgeon. The comfort that a 5min conversation brings from that man is amazing and keeps Shan and I positive the whole day. He is pleased with the reactions of Connor (opened his eyes when he called his name, looked at him, calm body) when he visited earlier this morning. He has another CT Scan scheduled for tomorrow morning to keep an eye on his brain and to check on the progress of the wrap they put on his head this morning to assist his brain for pushing it back into position.

The nurse is focused on reducing all IV's
today and getting him balanced with the meds they are orally feeding him. So far the reductions today have been going well and he is calm and resting. His breathing is going well and they hope to progress to get him off the ventilator as soon as possible. Positive vibes is all we are focused on at the moment - update later today.

  1. You two amaze me. I am in absolute awe that you seem to take these things in stride. I was be an absolute basket case, incapable of coherent thoughts or language. I pray for Connor all the time. Doesn't matter if I'm driving, shopping or just watching the boob tube. I will offer a silent prayer that God brings him back to make your family whole again. Please know I have nothing but respect and love not just for you, but for all descendants of Aunt Terry and Uncle Russ. I have felt warmth and unconditionally welcome from day one, and I'm honored to call you a part of my extended family. Much love, support and prayers for you all.
Connor, come home soon. We all love you and miss you. Hurry back! 💓💞

  2. I hope he heals quickly. I've been following these posts and this whole time I thought it was Shannon who was posting them. Being in the hospital is no fun for anyone, patients or visitors. Stay focused on getting him well and getting him home healthy. When I was in the hospital, I didn't realize how hard it was on my family and the burden and stress I had put on them. When I did, it lit a fire under my butt to complete my physical therapy faster so I could go home.
