Second star to the right...
Connor can have visitors on a 1-on-1 basis and they need to go through Shan. He has been asking to see his friends. So if anyone would like to visit, please make arrangements with Shan.

At the 5 week mark, Shan and I reflect back to how far we have come. From the shear horror of an accident that potentially could have taken all that matters in life, to seeing the amazing individual we love and adore come back alive. We cannot say thank you enough to all of you who have been on the other end of this blog reading, quietly sending good vibes, commenting, praying, helping financially and those that are close to provide assistance with sitting - our hearts go out to each of you. This has been an exhaustive experience that we could not have endured without your response and involvement. When you feel alone, your darkest thoughts surround you. Thankfully all of us have had limited exposure to dark moments with all of the interaction each of you has provided.
Connor had his first non-family visitors tonite. Thank you Sabos for bringing the laughs and entertainment to his room. He was in need of good ole fun.
Connor today continued to heal with his trach flap closing partially - amazing! He was able to take his first shower in weeks - actually sat for some time, allowing the warm water to wash over his body. He even got dressed in civilian clothing in lieu of hospital garb, which he could describe as amazing.
We are still on track for surgery on Wednesday, with all hopes for a successful and infection free result. With a successful surgery and complication free recovery, Connor could be looking at potentially being released on Friday from Acute Care and transferred to his new rehab facility by next week.
Thank you again to all of you following - Connor has us read all updates and responses each night. Pretty amazing how he is following - on to tomorrow.

ReplyDeleteThinking of you each day Connor - the Wylie Isocki Family.
That shower had to go a LONG way in making Connor feel better! And civilian clothes....and visitors!!!! So very happy for all of you that Connor has made such amazing progress, and continues to do so each day. I know that my friend Maurya, and all of you, have endured so much worry and uncertainty over the past 5 weeks, and can only imagine how even the tiniest steps forward must thrill each and every one of you. I have worried right along with you and am so appreciative of the updates on Connor....I almost feel like I know him. My continued prayers to Connor as he goes through surgeries, rehab, and the many other steps that lay ahead of him, and for his amazing attitude and strong will throughout his recovery. Prayers also for family members, friends, and all the medical staff that are constantly providing the love and care and never-ending bedside vigil. Hugs to all of you.
