The Little Engine That Could

Currently due to his condition and being in ICU, Connor is not accepting any visitors at this time.

Morning update on Day 16 for Connor:

Overnight they had to increase his sleep medication due to the amount of agitation he was experiencing. When we arrived
this morning he was calm and the nurse was busy working to reduce his med levels.

Starting at 9:30 they completely turned off his ventilator to test his breathing on his own. This was after they had him sitting up in the bed.  Who knew these beds could move to a vertical position!  So far he has gone for 2hrs of breathing on his own, which may end soon due to a scheduled CT Scan. A great achievement nonetheless and the next step to moving him out of ICU. His is in and out of sleep and currently not really responding to verbal commands -possibly due to sleep/pain meds.

The neurosurgeon stopped by to see him and is equally pleased with the progress. They have ordered a helmet for protecting the flap in his skull -anticipating him getting out of the bed and into a chair soon (didn't see that coming!)
Update later
today.

Keep up the good homework, Friends!!!  We're seeing the results.
