Scavenger hunts are even fun in the hospital

Currently, we are looking for visitor/s who can sit with Connor on Monday and Friday next week from 5-8pm.  He has a full schedule during the days and doesn't have time for visitors until this time of day.

As another day closes, we continue to be thankful for Connor's innate ability to heal.  He continues to climb out of this hole we call a TBI.  Today he went on a scavenger hunt that his speech therapist created.  She gave him instructions yesterday on where he was to go today.  He wrote them down in his phone (he uses his phone as it is easier to type with his right hand than it is to write, as he is left handed) and had to lead the physical therapist, speech therapist and Dave around the hospital.  Dave said he was very successful in that he found all the points he was given, along with walking the entire way with only one rest.

After wearing a splint to bed last night that kept his left hand straight out, he woke up this morning to a delightfully straight hand.  During the visit with the orthopedic therapist this morning, he was able to grab and move cones and move bean bags with his left hand - something that he was unsuccessful at doing just two days ago.

Connor's rash was itchy when he woke up this morning.  He took a Benadryl at 8am, which only took the itch away.  Tonite, the rash is hardly noticeable.  It's still there, but faint.  We continue to follow the no dairy, no eggs and limited wheat.  He did have French toast for breakfast.  But that was the only wheat he had today.

Ellie and Beth were so lovely to come visit with Connor this evening and Uncle Mike also took time out of his schedule to sit with him yesterday.  We appreciate all the people who have taken the time out of their days to come spend with him.  I hope you know how much it means to see you all.  We are overwhelmed at the outpouring of love that everyone has shown, whether is near, far, in person, on Facebook, monetary or energetic. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.  We truly appreciate everything from each and every one of you.

Have a peaceful Sunday.  Good night!
